"Variant production manufacturers are demonstrating increasing interest in Web technology and process transparency"Another innovation award and extensive interest in VlexPlus ERP at the CeBIT Trade Fair!Web technology and interdisciplinary process orientation are also playing an increasing role when it comes to the choice of software by medium-sized variant production manufacturers. This is the conclusion that CEO of VLEXsolutions AG Thomas Feike has drawn from this year’s CeBIT. The company, which belongs to the VLEXgroup, also registered a significant increase in the number of potential customers expressing a definite interest in the Web-based VlexPlus ERP system, for which a new release based on Comarch Semiramis 5.0 was presented. At the trade fair, the specially developed "Next generation ERP" with its systematic variant management was also once again singled out by the business association "Initiative Mittelstand" as the most innovative software product from Bavaria. Kulmbach, 16/03/2010 – Representing the VLEXgroup at this year’s CeBIT Trade Fair, VLEXsolutions AG registered fewer casual customers, but a significantly higher number of potential customers expressing definite interest. As CEO Thomas Feike puts it: "More and more medium-sized businesses are interested in a cost-saving Web technology and the potential this has for connecting to mobile terminal equipment of any kind, as well as the integrated mapping of all of their business processes across all of existing locations. Businesses increasingly understand that a system such as VlexPlus does not just mean you can deal with variants in a systematic way or use so-called collaborative processes, but it also makes it much easier for you to adapt to new customer requirements, as well as bringing greater flexibility and cost-effectiveness. Systematic variant management across all product and trading levels is becoming a critical competitive factor not just for so-called variant production manufacturers, but to an increasing extent for technical wholesalers that deal in extensive product ranges as well." In the NORD/LB Forum at the CeBIT Trade Fair, in front of several hundred guests invited from the world of politics, business and the ITC industry, VlexPlus repeated last year’s success, again taking the regional award for Bavaria as one of the best IT innovations for medium-sized businesses. More than 2000 competitors from the whole of Germany, involving a total of 35 categories, had taken part in the traditional competition organised by the "Initiative Mittelstand" association and the Huber Verlag Neue Medien publishing house. All of the products submitted were assessed by a jury of 80 professors, researchers, industry and IT experts and specialist journalists in terms of their innovative content, practical relevance and their suitability for medium-sized businesses. Here is more of what Thomas Feike has to say: "We are pleased and very proud that VlexPlus – Semiramis inside has now received this award for the second time. It is proof to us that we are still on the right track and that the market too definitely has a high regard for medium-sized highly specialised industry software partners when it comes to projects. In designing and developing VlexPlus it was important for us to come up with business software that was above all modern in terms of future requirements, instead of simply dealing with present-day needs. Process orientation, usability, multi-site technology, international application, industry-specific functionality, as well as consistent and systematic variant management - these are the factors on which the future success of a business depends." |
